Outdoor Therapy
I offer indoor, online and outdoor therapy. There is a vast amount of research findings showing that outdoor therapy is very effective. If you are interested in outdoor sessions, which take place in Bristol, please enquire.
Research findings show that outdoor therapy can be highly effective for several reasons:
- Enhanced emotional processing
Physical movement in nature engages parts of the brain responsible for emotional regulation (like the limbic system), helping to "unstick" thoughts and process trauma that the body might otherwise hold onto……
- Bilateral brain activation
The rhythmic, left-right movement of walking stimulates both hemispheres of the brain, which can lower emotional intensity and help you reprocess traumatic or stressful memories more effectively……
- Enhanced cognitive flow
Physical activity increases blood flow to the brain, which has been shown to boost verbal fluency and creative problem-solving, often leading to breakthrough insights that feel more organic than those reached while sitting still.
