Supervision
I am on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors and provide supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists.
For me it is important that you feel valued and safe in supervision. This means feeling safe to bring what you might consider mistakes or to explore ruptures within the therapeutic relationship, all of which can be a great therapeutic opportunity. Together we will explore what feels difficult and possible ways forward and celebrate what has gone well.
Our therapeutic skills continuously develop, are enhanced by learning from our clients and from each other. Supervision is a great place to reflect, to advance learning and to prevent burnout. I will be guided by professional ethical guidelines to ensure safe practice.
I have been a supervisor in the NHS, in private practice and at university (supervising students’ case studies). Supervision can be from an integrative perspective or from the perspective of a particular model (i.e. CFT, psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT).
